The Market Bar overlooks the beautiful Devizes Market Place and boasts a huge inglenook fireplace (in use during the winter months with a wonderful log fire). With the original 16th century oak floor and beams aplenty it is a characterful place to have a drink or bar meal in the finest Wiltshire tradition.

The Lansdowne Bar has an ambience that is very special.  There are plenty of comfortable chairs in which to relax and listen to the gossip of the town. For hundreds of years, local issues of the day have been argued and debated in this bar and you can almost feel the presence of the Kings and Queens who have partaken of an ‘elegant repast’ either as guests of the hotel or on a coach stop on their way to Longleat House or Bath whilst the coach horses were rested and watered. Behind the bar you will see a unique wall of original Delft tiles - quite a talking point for many a first time visitor. (See History)

In either bar you can sample one of the famous Wadworth Ales (such as 6X, IPA, Summersault, Bishops Tipple, or Old Timer) or choose a glass of wine from our extensive list. If you haven’t tried our glorious Wiltshire Ham, this is the place to try it!

These bars are also extremely popular meeting places for local people who sit and enjoy fresh coffee or a glass of their choosing along with a slice of our delicious home made cake. The Market and Lansdowne bars are located on the ground floor and are fully accessible with access to disabled facilities.
